Looking for PSP Ink Wash Filter.

I’ve been using GIMP for image editing for the past week and am eager to get back to what I am familiar with—Aftershot Pro/Paint Shop Pro X5.

There is one thing in GIMP that I am fond of and that is the “Ink Wash” filter. It gives a very interesting effect that truly works for a small number of images. But its real power, for me, is to run it on a duplicate layer and change the blend mode/opacity of the top layer.

I’ve been looking for something comparable to Ink Wash for PSP, but have come up short. Anyone have any ideas. I wish I had an example of the filter run on an image, but I do have one post where I used it on a duplicate layer. http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-86834-1.html

Is this filter built into the GIMP software or is it a plug-in?. If it is a plug-in with the standard .8bf extension there is a really good chance it will work in any software that accepts plug-ins.

No such luck. The filter I want is part of Gmic magic filter--GIMP's answer to color efex I guess.

I am attaching a sample of what the filter does.

Just open the photo in gimp after you edit in PSP or whatever and apply the filter, job done.

I was hoping to avoid moving an image through multiple programs.

Interesting, upon further searching I found a thread on GIMP forum concerning the desire of photoshop users to have G'MIC.
The general feeling was that it would be great for the developer but it would never work because of the way filters work in photoshop.

I did find a standalone verson of G'MIC for windows. This is not something that I will use often, so I guess I'll just make copies of images that I use it on and import as a seperate layer in PSP.

Thank you.
