My favorite place to visit in Boston is the archives in the basement of the golden-domed State House. Still has the original Mayflower Compact, as well as the charter for Massachusetts Bay Colony on display. Maybe not great for photography, sorry, but definitely worth seeing. And once back upstairs, if you're really lucky and they're in session, you might get some shots of some of America's biggest crooks, swindlers, con-men, and cheats. Locally, we call them 'elected officials,' but what's in a name? And don't they love to have their photos taken!

Or go down to the Naval Yard in Charleston, get some shots of the Constitution, oldest American warship still afloat. Fun tour, too, tho I'm not sure they run them in the winter.

And yeah, the Zakim Bridge is one gorgeous hunk of bridge.

I thought you were talking about MA, not NY. :D

I thought Zakim Bridge sounded familiar. That was part of the Big Dig project, wasn't it?

Hi Jerry,

Photos of Revere Beach I guess are O.K., lots of sand, lots of sea, lots of sky, but since you are going to be only a few miles north of boston, try some of these for some really great shots. Charlestown Navy Yard (old Ironsides and Boston skyline), Beacon Hill, Boston Common and the public garden, the freedom trail, Boston Duck Tours, and Lexington and Concord are not far off, and are snow-covered right now. Have a great time, and be sure to post some of your photo's when you get back home.

Thanks. Funny you should mention the Duck Tour. I was there years ago with a group. They had made reservations months before, but when we got there, the Ducks were no where to be found. They blew us off, so we did other things.

Thanks. I think I was there before. I remember the sand looked very old.

Remember when that sand was being made? Ah, the good old days.

When I was a kid, that process hadn't started yet. All we had on the beach were rocks.

I don't think the Duck Tours run in the winter, I think it is March through November. We did them in May for the first time and it was great! If they were open that would be the top thing to do!!
