Very pretty. I think I would like to have seen the entire tree.

This is a composite. Hopefully that is not too obvious.

Those are nice pics. I've been a shutterbug since I bought my digital SLR a couple years ago, but I don't know the first thing about creative manipulation. How long does it take to learn? How much does the software cost (i currently only work part-time and can't afford pro quality).

Unfortunately there was a house in the way and I had cut that part of the tree off of the photo when I shot it. I should have included the whole thing and cleaned it up. It is a beautiful tree that I admire every time I walk by my neighbors house. I wish the whole tree was there too and should have reshot it before I took the photo. :-)

It's a never ending learning process. I keep finding new things my Photoshop Elements 9 does that I didn't know about or haven't tried yet. There are tons of great video tutorials available for PSE from Adobe and on youtube. For nonprofessional editing which does include an incredible number of edit techniqes the PSE series is excellent and lots of UHH members use that. Some people say it is very difficult to learn but if you start with the auto edits and guided edits and then move on to more complex, I didn't think it was too bad. Amazon.com currently is having a special on PSE10, which is the newest PSE version, for only $49.99 which is a steal. The editing is a lot of fun too.

I like the shot. I use a cork screw willow for my foreground. I will post one as soon as I find it.
