Two of the more difficult birds for me to capture in flight are the mourning dove and downy woodpecker. The dove, because it hangs around so long I get bored waiting, and then it suddenly flies off with no warning, and the woodpecker, because it is so fast. However, last week I got both.

Great set, especially that adorable shot of the male cardinal feeding his spouse

Thank you. I am getting better at catching them in the air. I am only 20 feet or so away, so it is hard to keep up with them.

A fantastic set Max. The one of the two Cardinals is so sweet. I never manage to get the Downy Woodpecker, yes he is so fast. And only ever manage to get the Mourning Dove perching,or sometimes at the bird bath. But your shots are awesome.
