Well I have had a rough week Dd had 2 seizures Monday afternoon and 1 about 5:30 am yesterday well I ended up spending 9 hours at the hospital (at her doctors request to have the epilepsy monitoring unit see her, they never did) well they did find she was a little dehydrated, but the er doc tried saying her symptoms sounded like any takers on guessing what he said, yea he tried to say it sounded like covid, I was furious because I saw her have the seizures, so did they try to figure out why no they did a ct scan to see if she had any damage to her head, she didn’t, oh not to mention this hospital was in Kentucky where I had to use my phone maps to get to well my phone died so I had to rely on my memory which was difficult because I had been awake for 36 hours, I couldn’t even lay down without getting a muscle cramp, I had to take 3 muscle relaxers over a 10 hour period to get them to stop.

I can only imagine how you both felt but I can understand. Frustrating when they don’t listen. I hope you both feel better.

Unfortunately my wish that the economy would change to make it possible for me to retire, didn't happen. I keep hoping.

I keep telling myself that after the Great Depression there was the boom in the 50s. Just had to wait for it. I don’t feel retirement is all that great. I miss being with people and I’m getting closer to the serious aging illnesses. It is nice to not get up and go out every day and choosing what I want to do with my day. You will get your birthday wish.

When I was a teenager I belonged to a group that did fight the federal government. And we were successful. Unfortunately the government can outlast any group and that is what they did. The federal government waited 25 years then went ahead with the project that we had stopped. No one from the group lived in the area anymore.

That ‘makes me mad.
They tore down our neighborhood for a road and never built the road. Many of the older people who were displaced died. I think they were upset losing the homes their relatives and friends had lived in for generations.

Good morning all from another sunny day in Norfolk although the wind has swung round to the north again which is making it feel a bit cooler, still 14C which isn't bad. Having an easy day today after all the excitement of yesterday, will try and finish sewing up my jacket this afternoon. Have a good one if you can. xx

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 7:00 am EDT and 10'C (50'F) going up to 17'C (63'F) with full sunshine.
I have a dentist appointment for cleaning at lunchtime. It will be a welcome break from the students. (How often can one say that!) I spent most of yesterday morning robbing Peter to pay Paul, so I had enough licenses to set up some students. The boss' boss has finally agreed to buy more licenses, but he didn't say when.! I need a break soon.
Palestinian protestors have set up an encampment in Kings College Circle at the University of Toronto and are demanding that the university expel all Israeli students and stop accepting sponsorship money from a whole list of businesses that they say support Israel. (Hm, would have thought if the money is going to sponsorship, it won't go to Israel. But that is my dumb thought not the thoughts of these highly educated students) There are no port-a-potties so they will let these tents stay here until it is a health issue then they will remove them. That gives them a week to get lots of media attention.
I started a project last night but some how I changed sizes mid way through (argggg) So I will be frogging that and trying something else. Tonight is Knit Night.

We have a place called the Lost Villages. Several villages along the St Lawrence river here in Ontario were expropriated, their houses were bulldozed, their cemetaries were dug up or had tons of stone dumped on top of them. All to make way for a hydroelectric dam that they were told would make navigating the St Lawrence easier. Hundreds of workers who hauled cargo in smaller boats through the rapids and the channel around them were put out of work. Hundreds of historical sites were flooded. New, purposely created villages were set up and the people were moved into new houses there. There was no main street just a strip mall. No one was happy. The government promised they would not do that again. (Until they decided to do it again!)
In the summer when the water is low, you can see the foundations of the villages that were flooded.
