I've never been a NASCAR fan...kind of funny since I'm such a car hound. The Honoree for this year's Amelia Show was Rick Hendrick, of Hendrick Motorsports. When he arrived, he had a whole herd of race cars from his collection along with him. I think it was about 24 cars, It was an amazing display. I didn't shoot but 3 of them.

I'm with you Tom, not a NASCAR fan either. But I can appreciate what goes into building and maintaining one of these vehicles.

Pretty cars nicely shot Tom. I have more respect for NASCAR since the now run on road courses too. At least those can turn in both directions.

I'm not a NASCAR fan either. I guess it's the go fast, turn left thing. Same thing with the drags which I used to love to watch. Now they're so technologically advanced that the race is over in three seconds. Bring me back to the B-Gassers!

I'm with you there, Don. And I certainly appreciate the guts it takes to run in a pack of cars, barely a couple of feet apart, going at insane speeds.

I have a feeling, Jack, that the drivers would like to see more events on road courses as well.

I thought so as well. But when I kicked one of them, it sure as hell hurt my foot.

If there's anyone who can appreciate what you're saying, it's me. I spent a fair hunk of my early years in organized and sanctioned drag racing. I absolutely respect the skill and GUTS it takes to strap on a top fuel car these days. But the show is over so quick that I've lost interest in the sport.

Not much of a NASCAR fan except, my wife’s maiden name is Hendricks, and you have half of their team here. #9 and #48. Got into this because of a friend at church, he met our dog, Hendricks, and mentioned that he cheers them on.

It does take guts, for sure. Like being a human cannonball for three seconds!

Nice shots of Johnson and Elliott's cars, Tom.

I am a NASCAR fan. I put Cup and Xfinity races in line right behind sprints and midgets. I used to really like Indy cars, but they lost most of their appeal to me when all the cars became the exact same, sans the engine. Indy Car racing was much better in the "old days" when cars were unique. Unfortunately, NASCAR is also headed in that direction, which will cause me to lose interest there, too.

P.S. NASCAR's charter system also stinks.

There--that's my little rant for the day.
