A few years ago the Dallas Arboretum was the host for a huge Dale Chihuly glass exhibit. Over the next few days I'll show you a few of them. The craftsmanship was amazing as was the choice of colors. Since then I've heard of several of his exhibits but I don't think they were as large as this one.
This one looked like something out of the X-Files, maybe a group of red aliens coming out of the trees.

These red spikes came out of a fountain in front of the DeGolyer house almost in the center of the arboretum. The house was built in 1938 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style.

Kind of freaky looking spirals in one of two boats in a pool overlooking White Rock Lake in the background. I'll show the other later.

Another couple of aliens in the woods. Didn't notice at the time but I caught the evening star in the background. (I think)

Wavy red spikes from about two feet tall to about six feet.

I call it the yucca, at least that is what it reminds me of. It was over ten feet tall.

Great captures. I love the displays at the Arboretum especially the 12 Days of Christmas. Chihuly is at The Biltmore in Asheville. I need to get over there.
Saw that display in Dallas but only could go in the daytime, was still wonderful. A storm damaged some but they were quickly repaired or replaced.
Your night shots are great. Thank you.
Nice shots, Dean. I saw most of this exhibit in Arizona a few years ago, and they are much more dramatic here at night.
I went to the same exhibit. (twice - first time was the same day Big Tex burned) My favorite was the shot of the boat overlooking White Rock Lake just after sunset with the Dallas lights on the horizon.
Great images of great artistry. Chihuly and his associates do wonderful work. Your images show it well.
Went to the Biltmore exhibit a couple of weeks ago. Awsome!

How were the crowds? I'm headed there next week.
Great time to go, we did the two days pass. Roses should be peaking about now. Beat the out of school crowd.
