We just missed the peak of azalea blooms, but one could easily see how magnificent the gardens would be had we been a week earlier. Glad you are enjoying these posts, Don! We did not get to the USS Alabama--I have been on the USS Yorktown at Charleston, SC, many years ago, and recalled how much walking was involved, though. My buddy and I try to save our joints for the photo ops, lol!

Thank you for dropping in for a closer look, Carolyn, and for the kind words. The gardens would merit a return visit one of these days, as there are few places to enjoy blooming shrubs and flowers with such lovely landscaped backgrounds.
