I liked the photo as soon as I saw it but discounted it as a contender because it shows drops of water acting as LENSES capturing light. The challenge was a reflection. It is true a lens can reflect an image but he reflection is where it lands not through the objective lens. I still like it but if that is a reflection than any photo is a reflection which of course it is. But that was not what the challenge was. JB

Well...may be you are right,but I typed
In google "water drop reflection" and this is
What came Up http://www.google.ca/m/search?site=images&gl=ca&client=safari&source=mog&hl=en&aq=f&oq=&aqi=-k0d0t0&fkt=1225&fsdt=17890&cqt=&rst=&htf=&his=&maction=&q=water+drops+reflection
I agree its refraction and I googled it to,all I could understend it's same as reflection.
May be I am wrong....

Toker...don't worry about it. You are going to get a lot of cry babies. that is just the way it is. Again good job!

I may be out of my depth here but I think a lens works because of refraction. the light reflected off the subject is bent/refracted and focused on to the film plane. the refraction is the bending/shrinking from the big scene through the focal/length onto the focal plane. A reflection is light /image that bounces back off a surface and is not refracted or bent. It can appear bent if the surface it reflects off of is curved like a windshield of a car or a chrome bumper. the more I think of it. the water drops are not true reflections. But I really do like the shot. JB

I do think that everyone is beating this deal about reflections to death. It is a picture and it is a very nice picture. So why don't we all just accept that we have a winner and change the subject and move on as It is not going to change the results of the win.

Again and again...It is a nice shot and Kiddo's to the winner.

Congrats on a well deserved win. Great shot A.Toker. I am reminded of a technique I played with a couple of years ago. Applying "Rainex" to a horizontal pane of glass. Water drops on the glass then form almost perfect fisheye lenses, for the subject that is placed under the glass.
