Surprising to me in that the pistol was not "new" (a few hundred rds. at least). The stoppages were failure to fully chamber the last few hundredths of an inch. they functioned well in another 9mm pistol (Hammerli). And, I began with a fully cleaned and lubricated pistol.

That is odd. One would think the gun would be pretty well broken in by now. Do you have any problems with any other ammunition or just the one brand and type of cartridge? My only thought and I think it is wrong is perhaps the recoil spring has weakened and is not strong enough to fully bring the slide into battery. But if the gun works with other cartridges that can't be the reason for the failures to seat fully.

I pointed the pistol downrange and pushed the rear of the slide - to no effect. I've been a competitive shooter (bullseye) for decades but this is only the second time I've had a factory fresh round fail to chamber and that one had a factory damaged crimp.

Have you considered contacting the manufacturer to have them take a look at it? Perhaps there is a factory repair facility close to you where you could just take it in and have someone take a look.

This is one of my EDC pistols.

very nice.

My current EDC is a Sig P365XL - Romeo Zero... Shown in picture. Just returned from a trip to the pharmacy on the local Air Force Base and while out there went by the BX and ordered a Glock 47 MOS. more likely to carry the sig in summer and maybe the G47 in winter as I can open carry but I choose always to conceal.

Sig makes great stuff. I've had that same gun for awhile. I recently added a P365... a little easier to conceal. A company named Viridian has come out with a fantastic product. It's named the C5L. It's a combination of a green laser and a light as bright as 600 lumens. It fits the P365 like a glove.

Stay safe, brother.

do you have a holster that you can use with the C5L?

Thank you very much to everyone who has posted about my choice of firearm for EDC so far. I will continue to thank everyone personally as that is the way to do things.

But part of my posting was to gather some thoughts on the quality of the photographs themselves. I think they came out really well done but was hoping for your thoughts on the quality of the photographs as commercial photographs.

Anyone have any comments along those lines please.

Dennis

I commented on the Sig but I get your point. Some of us get excited about guns... especially one so nice like yours.

Excellent photography... I have tried and FAILED. It looks like it can be simple/easy... But it is not. I had very unacceptable results but can be used to document my guns.

My photo, in the 1st response to your post was taken off the WWW

Just make sure you practice and with the ammo you carry. I had two consecutive stoppages with my Sig P365 and factory fresh Sig ammo. It was unnerving to say the least. I changed ammo brands and continue to test. This also made me rethink switching from my J frame S&W.

thanks for the info. Can you share which specific Sig ammo was used and had problem.

I have fired both their ball ammo and JHP with good results. So far, no ammo has been a problem with my Sig P365XL

Well my opinion isn't worth two cents since I am not a qualified critic but I think the gun is beautiful and the photos are PERFECT!!!!

Very nice piece to carry.

Like you I always carry concealed. Speaking only for myself I think it is foolish to open carry. If ever I might need to use my firearm I don’t want to have anyone know I have it. Why spoil the surprise?

Thanks for that reply. My photos were never that great but were acceptable for my use at the time. The photos I submitted were taken in a Godox light tent with camera on a tripod. I used manual exposure, 1/10th at f8. Lights were front, back and from the left, all above. That would give a starting point. ISO was 64 as I recall.
