Sandblasting worked for me. AF is now more than 2X faster than when it was brand new, plus DoF was huuuuuugely improved.

I find that fine steel grit is better than sand. Good for cleaning sensors too.

My response was from my own experience. Reseating the lens and cleaning the contacts fixed my problem. Period. I don't need your comments.
