I vaguely remember someone in college saying,

"If you get too drunk, lay down and put your face on the rug.
That way, if you fall down, you won't hurt yourself!"

That sign should hang in all bars, with a "Rug Room" located nearby. "You've had enough tonight, fella. Go sleep it off in the Rug Room."

That's why I have a grabber tool, keeps me from bending over and crawling around on the floor.

I tend to hang out with older folks, and I've noticed something amusing. If something falls to the floor, people don't rush to pick it up. Like me, I bet they are asking themselves two questions: Do I really need that thing? If I bend down that far, will I be able to get back up?

It is another case of Receding Floorline

So far I am staying agile and either bend over at the waist can reach the floor or bend at my knees and the floor; but then I am young 74. Today I sent the afternoon until 16:00 trimming brush and trees using a gas powered Stihl pole saw and 18" 250 saw. I wore out early.

You can't fall off the floor.

When I’m in a mood, I like to kick it off somewhere. Maybe, someone else might pick it up for me. Sort of like a modern version of KICK THE CAN!

Before I consider the two questions listed above, I look around to see if there is someone available to pick it up.

Several times, I've seen two people look at the fallen object: the one who dropped it, and the one who would like to help. They both let it sit there.
