To me the DSLR IS a mirrorless if I use the live view button the mirror is up, no vibration and using BBF I've yet to get poor shots. I shoot JPG unless I want to spend the time in Adobe to balance the image as I'd like to see it since RAW is definitely a much larger format to send in emails, etc. And the Nikon Zs won't accept the DSLR lenses...to me, not worthy of the change.
Fortunately all my Nikon lenses, even my DX lenses, fit on my Z611. I could never have afforded the switch if I had to replace all my lenses at the same time.

I find that BBF with focus tracking (for moving subjects) works well on the Z6ii and Z7ii. For focus tracking I use the assigned FN1 button up front to activate.
I haven’t even started to dig in to the fancy focus modes. I’m looking forward to that. In the next day or so.

I never put anywhere near that amount of thought in to it.
Basically I wanted to move to a full frame camera so went with a Canon Mirrorless model.

All valid points as I have recently experienced too. My biggest surprise was not seeing the true depth of field when using f/32 to capture objects close and far in a shoot of a tulip field. I still landed up chimping to see the results.

A friend showed me where a version of silent mode is lurking in your RP. Its an odd work around but should you ever need it ......
She sets focus bracketing to just two frames. She doesnt need that second frame, but as stated, its an odd work around. Dont know the reason behind it, but when focus bracketing, the RP engages the silent shutter thaz not otherwise available on an RP :-)
BTW, when using your camera as a spotting scope, dont overlook the focus magnifier feature to get you a closer look.

I found a nice trick on my OM-1. I shoot raw so I found I can turn on the digital teleconverter to get a better look at distant stuff. I’ll get the full raw file but be able to better see details if the subject.

That works on a few other cameras as well. Some cameras have another solution for the same need, showing the focus magnifier in a Picture-in-Picture box in the viewfinder.

I cannot knock the mirrorless cameras having not owned one and CANON has listed their virtues more than once. For my purposes, uses, and expertise my D7100 and D500 with my stable of lenses are more than adequate. I will reserve those thousands of dollars for my next trip.
