Just a few plants from around.
Tulips, daffies, and something else I don't know.

The flowers of cactus around the state are amazing. Pale yellows, orange, pink, purple, really all kinds.

It's not colorful but blooming yucca is spectacular, either alone or in large groups.

I found these near the town of Cedar Hill south of Dallas. Not a clue what they are but I'd really bet you could not eat them without dire consequences.

Nice time to be outdoors in Texas. Thanks for the shots. Recent rains make driving down a Texas Farm-To-Market road a true delight.

A true delight and often times a real adventure when you hit some of the back, back roads, oft times dirt.
There's a dirt county road about 10 miles west of us (it's about half-way between US 281 and Texas 16) that I have not traversed in 10 or so years). It runs south from the ghost town of Thurber (exit 367 on I-20) to the community of Hannbial on Texas 108). Next time my truck is really dirty and I have an hour I hope to make that run. It is a back, back road that always has plenty of dirt. If you are ever driving down I-20 in the area and need a good meal you can't beat the Smokestack Restaurant in Thurber. Quite a bit of history in that old building.
