I like this set, Barb! Even if you prefer photographing animals (I do), I think you have a natural ability to do landscapes too. I'm not a car guy, but I like the truck also!

Thanks and I hear you! Yeah, the truck was an added bonus!

Nice set of photos. I too like the truck. Looks like the spent money was well worth it. Keep on clicking!

Nice shots. Love the low-slung truck. Hope you thoroughly enjoy your new lens.

Thanks, that just came rolling down the road and thought, well I need practice with action shots, go for it. Love the digital camera!

The images are great. The real question is "do you like them"?

Wow, I never had anyone ask that. I am my worst critic, so that's hard to answer. I can tell you that I don't enjoy this type of photography as much as I do my wildlife. I miss the interaction I get with the subject. The flower stuff is better, as I like to do more unique shots than the typical pose.

These were different, and that's OK. Frankly, I struggle with buildings as they bore me. I did a couple of close-ups of the wood, which was more satisfying.

So, thanks for making me think!

Well, I "purchased" a refurbished lens from Amazon to expand beyond my squirrel stuff.

Canon 18 -135 f/3.5- 5.6, Image Stabilization, TV on USM. I realized it's not the best; however, this is within the budget at this stage. I have 30 days to try it, as it's a free return.

So I took it out for a spin to the nearby place where I did the signs. It's a nice place with beautiful trees, which I like photographing. While it was great to have a lens I could use to get these shots, I missed my other lens when I saw a bird and, yes, a squirrel! I confess when I played enough, I did switch back to my other, and yes, I got several pleasing squirrel shots.

I included the Robin, which was taken with the new lens because I liked that he had something in his mouth. Nice surprise when I discovered it when I edited it.

So here's what I did. I don't have much experience with this type of photography, so I gave it a try! Please feel free to comment.

Even after reading your initial post when you were considering the purchase, I felt you were making a good decision. I had this lens when I owned a 7d2 and was generally pleased with the results. Good for you! Enjoy!

I'm hoping so. Now will just need to find some new places to shoot!

I sincerely appreciate that feedback. I haven't done this type of photography for a while, so it was a bit challenging.
Yeah, trying to be safe. That is a problem these days for me as the places I once used to go alone I wouldn't now. A crazy world we have here!

I have this kit lens with my Canon 77d and it's a fine lens and have some printed 16 x 20, no issues at all. Enjoy

They all are nicely exposed, but, to me they do not look sharp. What camera did you use? What was your reason for picking this lens?

If it pleases you, that is all that matters.
