My wife and I have been trying to grow a blooming bleeding-heart plant in our garden for three years. We bought the plants with blooms. Finally, we had some success. I think the flowers have some impressive color, symmetry, and anatomy.

My late wife had two plants for twenty years, I would hang out on the covered deck for and bring them into the house for the winter. They died with her passing.
