He posed well until I got the camera. Shot at about 87' with a 18- 300mm at 300mm f/8 mounted on a D500 at iso 4000. Lightroom says there is no detail in the dark feathers. The focus was on the birds shoulder. f/8 should have been as sharp as this lens can do. This was one of those days I wish I had a 200-500 or a longer prime. I am not sure I could have gotten sharp feathers with any lens in the low light due to the cloudy day. Comments welcome.
Maybe he will be back today.
Nice shot of a beautiful, ugly bird!
I think you are on the right track thinking about the Nikon 200~500 zoom. A great lens at a reasonable price. I have two of them mounted on a D850 and a D500 and have never thought that I was outgunned by the guys with the primes! Or the after market zooms.
To handsome to put in the oven!
Nice catch.
Out looking for ladies. Nicely shot
His lady has been visiting for many days and he finally caught up with her; but I am not sure she was impressed
