Desenzano, a town on Italy's Lago di Garda (Lake Garda)

The full name is Desenzano del Garda. It's it's a town on "Lake Garda" in the north of Italy and it's been a favorite destination of ours over a good number of years because we have dear friends there, it's beautiful and it's in a location that offers a lot of options to visit a wide variety of other places in Italy and other countries. We stayed there a few years back we stayed in the hotel Tripoli on the front opposite where the ferries dock,I agree with you that it is a beautiful place lake Garda is my favourite place of all,we also stayed at Malcesene which also lovely.hope to return one day.thanks for the photos.Allan

Alan, I notice a lot of TV antenna on the roofs. It makes me wonder if they don't have TV cable service of some type.

Well, my friend who lives in Desenzano does have cable so I don't know why so many people opt for satellite dishes. It might have something to do with the clarity of the tv's picture which is superior with the dishes. It might also have something to do with sports. There are more choices of sports to watch from countries other than Italy with the dishes and there are a lot of soccer fanatics in Italy.

The antennas I saw were of the old-style roof antennas before cable or dish.

After viewing on Download they may be a type for some type of radio reception.

I have a feeling they're left over from years and years ago and now serve as a convenient place to mount a dish. But, I'll ask my friends
