Close to East Entrance of park. Nice little lake with a few picnic tables and Top Notch Peak in the background.
This is close to Avalanche Peak and minutes from Pahaska Teepee, Buffalo Bill's old lodge. Good place to eat. On the return trip, Lake Overlook is a must see.
Or continue 50 miles to Cody.
Second shot is Yellowstone Lake, with Mt Sheridan and Dot Island in view. Leftover ice!
Good work, Dave. People visiting the park, and who have the time, owe it to themselves to take that ride to Cody. The scenery along the way is stunning. And the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody ia a MUST SEE attraction.
If you go there next year, we'll be there the month of June. We normally go mid-May and bail by mid-June, but we want a shot at the flowers. Post Labor Day is a good time for us too, but more and more folks are staying later. Staying in Gardiner again.
