Surprise admin doesn't step in more but I and others believe the ones MOST offending ARE the admin. There is no other reason some get away with what they do
I refuse to allow other outside negative forces to influence my choices, statements, preferences, like / dislikes. I ignore those who exhibit tasteless, abusive behavior or comments. If one does not like what I have to share or the choices that I make, they are welcome to share their comments, criticism, etc., and move on. It will not have a negative effect on me personally or in any other fashion. Free speech is a privilege granted to us by the ones who lived & died protecting our freedoms and country for hundreds of years. With that said, free speech also goes hand in hand with respect. I stand firm on the above. Happy trails to all.
It's interesting that some of the replies emphasize his reason for leaving.
Ironically, in addition to maintaining the vitriol, we can no longer post humorous cartoons.
Sorry to see you leaving, John. I always enjoyed your photos.
Says a man full of vitriol. There is no constitutional right to kill someone however there are evil and deranged people.

Agree completely. Recently, I suggested to a member planning to visit NYC to be careful as the city has become dangerous. I received a message from the Admin about political comments. Telling a fellow hogger that the place he is planning to visit is dangerous constitutes a political comment?

Yes, I understand completely.
And I, too!
But, thank goodness for the Good Guys, who take this Forum seriously, and have been a great help to Amateurs like me.
So, I'm hangin' in, and grit my teeth when reading the nasty repartees.

Well, I just did (post some cartoons). But there are rules about political 'toons and posts in the Chit Chat section. I think the threshold is low (I once had a post go to the Attic since one cartoon crossed the line), but I think the threshold is where it needs to be for the sake of stability. That one mild and abstract political cartoon was starting to attract sharp reactions.

Hmmm, I’m wondering if the OP left the “Watch” switch on?

Been an interesting few years subscribing to UHH but its become far too vitriolic with members criticizing posts quite unhelpfully simply to boost their own over inflated egos. Suppose its only to be expected though in a country where children have the Constitutional Right to take guns to school to kill their teacher and other pupils! Yes and elect a criminal con merchant as President.
Keep well those who do not fit this profile.
Cheers JohnR
Sorry to see you go! It took a while, but I filter everything, post replies to only those that interest me or I feel are worthy of my time. When I no longer am interested, I'll say goodbye. Many "Uhhers" are quite worthy of my time. I read/open only the posts I deem are worthy. I've become very selective.

Let's jeer at the person who is leaving. Go ahead. Mock him, make fun of him. Let it rip! That will prove that he is wrong when he claims that this is not a friendly place.
Don't need proof. If you've been here any length of time and have even minimal experience with echo mail, newsgroups and forums you know first hand UHH is polluted with
very friendly folks. A few old grouches doesn't make it unfriendly. If you hate old grumpy people, then this hangout is probably a bad place for you anyway.
This guy trashed our hangout, and our country. He will NOT be missed.
