My hat's off to you, my friend.

And don't stand too close to the edge of the platform…..
I’m extremely vigilant. After all I was a Scoutmaster. My wife worries when I work or stay out late with my camera. I do not have my face buried in the cell phone. It is sad that NYC gets a bad rap. I’m sure CHG_CANON can tell stories about Chicago and Cook County. Personally I don’t believe any of the hype. As for handling the day to day I do fine. For years I was a pharmacist working in a prison. Never ever had a problem with the inmates while I was handing out medications.
“Ya can’t scare me! I have 3 teenaged children” They are ‘growed’ up!
Now I’m a pharmacist at Bellevue Hospital. Plenty of work to make most people sweat. But if you want to come to NYC for vacation and photos, it’s an awesome venue.
PS. Thanks for the kind words from all and Happy Birthdays

Wow! I had Sunday breakfast too!
Did you have it with people who care for you and for whom you care and after a hard week trying to make life better for other people? Your contribution this week was to make a snarky remark. I expected better from you.
[quote=Scruples]I hope you did. If you didn’t you could come over, the refrigerator is yours to search through, coffee piping hot and a handful of Orchid photos. Our wives would gone off shopping. We could walk my dog and smoked some cigars.
PS. Thank you for your service![/quote
You're reply was better than mine. He probably needs some kindness.

I always enjoyed going to the city which I did about three times a year for quite a few years. I haven't been since covid. The Botanic Garden is wonderful and I plan to go again this summer. The subways seem more dangerous than in past years so most likely the trip will be across the Washington Bridge and down the parkway to eliminate the sub ride.
Don't wait too long or you will get charged with congestion pricing in lower Manhattan if you drive. I've lived here over 60 years and removed Manhattan from my map. Never going there anymore. INMO NYC is finished. Things may change with new leadership, but that's years away.

Well said Ollieboy. It used to be you were OK if you avoided certain well known crime areas. These days you can get hit over the head, stabbed or shot on any corner at anytime of the day/night. There's a story virtually every day about someone assaulted while minding their own business. an elderly woman was just attacked and her car stolen while walking up the stairs of her church.
