Hi, this information came from a State park site. I figure if they want to put it on a site it is public information, but don't really care as I find it is very interesting and was hoping that other UHH members would enjoy. Bee

I think you misunderstood. You can share all you want. That is the intent of YouTube.

Maybe I should have asked you in a PM as not to upset Bee...I'm sorry Bee. Wasn't trying to hijack your thread.

It was part of how the thread evolved. The video is still exciting!

This is a great video. I wouldn't want to be out there. Not sure how to list this, but sure some one will tell me if I am doing it wrong. Thanks Bee

We here in the Pacific Northwest call it "Surfing the Bar". These boats are in complete control. Really nothing compared to the Bering Sea at "False Pass" or St. Mathews. CJ7

I am not quite sure how to take this as I simply quoted what is said under the video. I was going to quote the part about it not being on the Columbia River and leave the rest out, but did not want to misquote.

Well it's not the Columbia Bar, but I have seen the Columbia Bar that ugly before. I have crossed it many times coming out of Warrenton/Astoria Oregon. And yes the Coast Guard stays very busy there around buoy 10.

Awesome video.

I can think of one thing even a bit more gnarly than what's shown in that video - doing it at night...in driving rain! Yeeee-haawww! (Of course, it's hard to get a very good video of that...)

The true meaning behind liquid courage. Take all the guys along for that ride, Jack, Jim, Johnny, and Jose.
