Trump's attorney requested a list of the first witnesses to be called to testify, which is customary, except that Trump can't keep his mouth or thoughts quiet, so the prosecution/judge have decided that witness intimidation would be the result, if the witness list is provided ahead of the start of the trial, so the defense team will not know who is being called, until these witnesses are called during the start of the trial.

I wish that the judges in the three other pending trials, had the backbone that Merchan has shown so far and not allowed this bully any leeway to sway the trial. Let's get this trial underway!

Remember, the guilty POS should get a fair trial despite his mouth.

A "fair trial" does not include witness intimidation.

There were only two logical choices at this point, either not providing the witness list to the trump defense team, or locking trump up because of witness intimidation.

In case you've forgotten, witness intimidation has already occurred in this case, even after the gag order was strengthened.

From all of the news reporting, most of the witnesses are already known, being trump inner circle individuals over the years. It shouldn't have been be too hard for the trump defense team to prepare for that list of witnesses. It's the few obscure witness which they might not expect, that could throw them off their game when they're called to the stand to testify. The trump defense team should have already done their background research on the known witnesses and been compiling data to question these witnesses about. Not knowing in which order they'd be called in, simply means that the defense team will need to carry binders full of that data to court on a daily basis.

If because the trump defense team has been desperately trying to get this case tossed out, they've FAILED to have compiled the necessary information on the known witnesses, that's their problem, it not the problem of the prosecution or the judge. I'd say it was incompetence on the part of the Trump defense team if they aren't prepared for the already known witnesses.

A "fair trial" does not include witness ... (show quote)

LOL, again I failed to properly convey my sarcasm!

I hate it when my failures precipitate a "preach to the choir" response.

The positive result is that there are likely many who need this information.

By "many" who are you referring to, because the prosecution already has the list. They're the only other "side" which needs the list.

But if you're referring to the trump cultists who could carry out attacks on potential witnesses, no they DON'T need the list of witnesses for this trial. Remember it's against the law to intimate a witness!

I was referring to the cultists, but yes, not a good idea to arm those who would engage in intimidation.

I guess some people just don't know how to "read" you Dave! I realize you are a conservative, but you also know when to call a spade a spade, which has been erased from the cultist followers, that now only see what they are told, not what is obvious to most normal people.

In the meantime the new left aligns with Hamas. This election will be interesting.

Trump has already proven his inability to hire competent counsel as demonstrated by the team that allowed a court trial (judge being the trier of fact) in the civil fraud case.
