I agree 100 per cent. I'm amazed at how bad the photos are at both of these sites and wonder why.
Because some are not artists, study art, or are "professional" photographers.
They simply like photography. Aficionados.
I thought that would be
QUITE obvious.
But I guess not, evidently...

Some people just have to get in the last word. When they see something they disagree with, they have to disagree. Then the author of what they disagree with has to disagree, and it goes back and forth forever. It's pretty ridiculous. People somehow think that they can change someone's mind on something with what they would call reason. It doesn't always work that way. Many people end up repeatedly trying to change the minds of those who disagree with them. I've known people in real life who can't accept any opinions other than their own, and others eventually avoid them if they can.

Hmmmm.
I thought Urnst was ernest.
I seldom ever post here any more but when I do it is to show something that is highly unusual or rarely seen. The last photo I posted here was of 2 baby vultures inside a very cluttered barn stable in terrible lighting. I wasn't looking for compliments on the photo itself but the rarity of the subject. How often does one get to see baby vultures ?

Following your template, attached below is a miserable photo, taken in rather unfavorable conditions of
something rarely seen. I wasnt looking for compliments on the photo itself, but the rarity of the subject. How often does one get to see a Korg GT-3 Guitar Tuner ?
As you implied, the Gallery is for posting, and the Analysis section for analysis. People should be able to post pictures that they want to post without fear of others saying they are awful. If this were a site for professional photographers, maybe your criticism would apply. Are people going to hesitate to post pictures they like because someone will call them awful?

That always give me pause. When I want to post a picture to demonstrate something, I wonder if it should go in Chit-Chat or the Gallery. Unless I'm presenting it as a "photograph," I post in Chit-Chat. I have had posts moved back and forth by Admin.

After seeing Jerry's post, I wonder what kind of response your Guitar Tuner would get in Chit Chat.

Context.
Sometimes some people have a problem with that.......

Call it Schrodinger's Post. It will be both moved and remain where it is. 😁

Really miserable. Stick to cats and birds. Say, what's that on your pants? Did you know that you can clean it up in Photoshop?

Oh no. People having fun. They should know better.

There is very little new information being posted. Anyone who is really looking to be helpful would have started a new thread by now, specified what the thread is about, and monitored it.

If only NEW information was posted, this forum would have died shortly after startup.
