Isn’t that a two-row cultivator on that John Deere? I only see one row shield on the side facing the camera. We mounted a four-row on a JD “A” back in the day. Mounting design was much improved in the late fifties.

You are correct—a two-row. Life was much easier when we went to a rear-mounted four row from a front-mounted.

We also used a tractor mounted two row corn picker for years. After sitting on the seat with it was mounted, I never once asked my dad whether he wanted or would let me do anything but unload wagons of corn. Scary d@mn machine.
