NCSU women's volleyball wrapped up their spring schedule last weekend with a match against UNC. It was good to see them in action once more. This "fix" will have to hold me until they start up again in the fall.
Even though I forgot to increase my shutter speed (duh!) here are a few from the match. Shot with a Nikon Z9 paired with a Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 lens. 1/1000th, f3.5, ISO 3200.
You may see all of my photos from the match on my website:

Fine work Rick. Volleyball is not easy to shoot. How was the gym lighting?

Being a D1 gymnasium it has pretty good lighting, not like typical high school gyms.

Good tight shots Rick. Volleyball is tough. I get to shoot the state high school championships every year. Inside a D1 college arena with TV lights. Makes a world of difference. But I still haven't mastered good face shots on plays at the net. Your set makes me itch for November!

Thank you for the kind words. I understand the challenges of plays at the net. I've been told to focus on legs/feet so dof will be ok, but sometimes the players and ball don't cooperate and go elsewhere on the court! I must admit in this case the equipment has helped me. The ability to select "people" on the Z9's focus tracking helps a lot.
Nice work. Thanks for sharing. Paul
Loving the epic pivotal moment captured in the first image Rick.
She moves with all the compelling grace and charismatic charm of a prima ballerina, albeit sans pointe shoes...
Excellent skin tones latent within... fabulous color balance for gym lighting.
Thank you for sharing your stellar efforts, they are truly appreciated.
Thank you for the kind and complimentary words. It means a lot!
