I looked up the story. Here's your answer: Colorado state prohibits some individuals from carrying weapons into the state's Capitol, but law enforcement said in the press release Thursday that "Individuals with Capitol credentials and access are permitted to carry a firearm inside the secure areas in compliance with Colorado gun laws."
Maybe there should be a sign: "Secure all firearms when dropping trou!!"
There was an article in one of the gun magazines explaining what to do when you need to use the commode when using a waistband type of holster. The obvious is not so obvious when you loosen up to drop your drawers. You cannot allow the handgun to be placed on the floor and it isn't too "smart" to keep it in your lap. Some waistband holsters can be removed and placed on the hook in the stall for easy access to place on the waist prior to leaving.
