Is it their goal to end/severely restrict one of Women's HealthCare procedures... Abortion?

I just want some clarity on this topic, apparently some believe the GOP doesn't.

I thought it was clear that MAGAns/GOP/Republicans were all following same leader, Trump.

In the best of worlds, yes. Is it going to happen in our democracy? Trump's not going to foist himself on the pitard of a losing cause.

I believe regardless what the most ardent fundamentalist believes they better get on board with something similar to the European models given the current national opinions on the matter if crucial border, security or economic matters are important to them. In Europe fetal viability is an important consideration as Germany and Italy allows abortion until 12 weeks, France and Spain 14 weeks and the most liberal policy United Kingdom and Netherlands 24 weeks (of course there are exceptions for medical emergencies). It is time to put this issue to rest and pass a 16 week national ban. If the republicans refuse to compromise on what is clearly (as polling shows) the majority opinion they could again throw away what should be a slam dunk election.

There should be NOTHING NATIONAL about it... NONE of the Feds business. MOVE to a state whose law's you like if you don't agree with YOUR current states laws. Feds were ONLY give certain enumerated powers, states given the rest. Don't get caught up in personal philosophy... Feds have WAY too much overreach now !

Firstly, moving to another state isn’t quite that easy for most and quite frankly you are lucky that residents from my state won’t likely choose Alabama and pollute it like they have done in Tennessee, Texas, Idaho and Florida. Secondly, regardless of how you feel about enumerated powers (and I agree that the SCOTUS made the legally right decision), I just think they poked the bear unnecessarily. My point isn’t espousing my philosophy one way or the other rather pointing out that there are many issues that are/or should be more important to the general public that will or could be lost because of this one issue.

Women’s healthcare and abortion are opposing terms. Abortion has almost nothing to do with women’s healthcare in the mass majority of cases. Stop lying by conflating the two.

So in your infinite wisdom, you're going to create "fly-over" zones void of women!

Have you looked at the map showing all of the states where the GOP have already severely limited or outright banned abortions?

https://www.cnn.com/us/abortion-access-restrictions-bans-us-dg/index.html

https://states.guttmacher.org/policies/

Most of the deep south bible belt states. Talk about shoving the religious beliefs of a minority of the population down the throats of the majority.

It would serve every elect GOP member in those states to be voted out of office because of the wrath of the female voters in those abortion restrictions or totally banned abortion states.

A woman scorned isn't something that those GOP elected officials really want to encounter in the ballot box in their next election!

It's not going to end well for those GOP elected officials!

I will never understand why a bunch of men, and a few women, believe they have the right to determine and limit a woman’s right to make her own health choices? I also find it harder to fathom why some women choose to relinquish their own rights.

On a related tangent and what I believe is the vote pandering position of certain politicians and is partially driving this, we have an amendment in our constitution that states that church and state shall remain separate. We are in serious jeopardy of losing that important component of our right to enjoy whatever religion, or no religion we so choose. I believe that, and will fight for, everyone’s right to enjoy freely and in peace, the religion of their choice, however forcing any religion on anyone is completely and totally illegal and should not be tolerated.

Simple question. Simple answer - no. But they do want some serious restrictions on the procedure.
Now, let me ask you a similarly stupid question: Does the left want to permit abortion up to the time of birth?

Artz already said on another thread today that he subscribed to a Jewish belief that the mother is most important and a child isn’t a child until it is born which tells me fetal viability up through the third trimester is “fair game.”

Yup. Sort of implies abortion on demand as a method of birth control is acceptable.

Who is trying to limit a woman’s healthcare choices? I don’t know a single person that wants that.

We are independent thinkers with the same moral compass.
