I'm finally getting around to sharing my latest adventure with the squirrels. A few days ago, as I said, I came across two squirrels at the entrance of the tree hole. At first, I thought this was another, shall we say, a romp in the woods. Later that day, in what I call the playground, I photographed that, but those shots aren't suitable for posting here! Looking at the size of these squirrels, I realized I was wrong. So I started photographing them, surprised they seemed quite comfortable with me. As you can see, this one is a bit of a character and clearly may be the next upcoming model. Would love to know how the inside of this tree looks for him to do the tummy shot! He must have been holding on to something above him.
Initially, I thought there was just one, and then I saw another pop its head out. As you see in the one photograph, the mom is looking at something, and when I looked, I saw another squirrel approaching with a peanut. I wondered if it was the dad. Given the look on his face, I felt sorry for him.
I have photographed them for several days, and now they have left the tree hole and are frolicking in the tree jungle. I will share them next!
As always, I hope you enjoy!
I'm with you squirrels are fun to photograph. BUT you have to be careful around them, they are a wild animal and will protect themselves from something they preseve as danger. When I was a cop I got a call about a squirrel in a house. Did I have fun treing to capture it. After two really got bites I called animal control and he didn't have any better luck than I did. But with team work we finally got the job done. I went to the hospital and got three stitches in each bite and a tetanus shot.
Great set. They are characters.
A great assembly of cuteness, Barb.
Another cute set Barb. Living rent free!

Cute shots! I really like the upside-down critter.

I agree they are fun and they've taught me a lot. I also agree that as cute as they are they are wild animals and respect that. I am sorry to hear about the incident. That must have been bad.
