“If you agree that, in the absence of God, you would 'commit robbery, rape, and murder', you reveal yourself as an immoral person, 'and we would be well advised to steer a wide course around you'.” That one?

RIP Andy Rooney.
Tom Waits - Come On Up to the House. "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through."

... or ... Maybelle Carter's farewell by Johnny Cash - Tears In The Holston River. I love'em both ... almost equally!

No. The one where he talks about being a "cultural Christian." However, the quote you made is interesting. Dawkins seems to find morality despite being atheist. Like he recently said, he's a "cultrual Christian." I've seen enough on the ID channel to realize that without God a lot of people will do what they will, including robbery, rape and murder. It's why our prisons are full and why crime is such a problem that the Dems are putting criminals back out on the street with no bail. Crime had become socially understandable becuase "there is no God."

You know nothing of atheists.
Atheists accept personal responsibility for their own actions and don't need threats from the sky God to make them moral and kind humans.
I cannot even estimate how many criminals I've seen with tattoos of Jesus or crosses or those wearing gold chains with religious icons.
Religion does not equate to morality

I think atheists scare them.
How can we be so secure in ourselves to not need someone in a white dress watching over us as we under go surgery.

Religion DOES equate to SINNERS. Those criminals you saw ARE sinners exactly like you, me and Millions of other people on the planet. Please do not try to tell us you are not a sinner. Do try to stick with the truth at least this one time little francine.

Next time you decide to take good look around pay attention to those who do not have tattoos of Jesus, crosses or wearing gold chains with religious icons. Here is a clue for you. Those people are sinners TOO.

The fact you choose not to believe in God does not make you less of a sinner. You commit sins every day as do we all. You simply choose to ignore them or call them something else. What do you use? Do you tell yourself you have been a naughty little one?

Dennis,
Your religion has rules for you. They do not apply to me.

Of course they don’t apply to you. But I can violate those rules whenever I want. That makes me a sinner. You are no better or worse than me except I personally do my best to do good. You don’t give a damn. I can ask God for forgiveness in Jesus’ name. You will refuse to do that.

Dennis
You need forgiveness a lot more than I do.
