Talk about the "dessert"!! It was almost 110 to 115 daily in the summer months. I lived in El Paso and commuted to WSMR every day. The Army bus was "air cooled". The hour ride back and forth was not much fun. But, we all survived!

USCG January 1966 until January 1970. Fortunate to start with QCBID when it was still Pers 1 that counted military active duty up to 5 years at 25. Retired with 30 years credit in 1996 just prior to turning 50. Life is good.
