A few shots of Texas that aren't scenics.
Rare night time shot at the Dallas Arboretum. They usually don't stay open after dark but this was a Chihuly event. The photo was printed on metal and exhibited at the Arboretum for a month.

At another event I found a classical guitarist and got a few shots of him. Those hands look pretty worn.

Eye'm watching you from downtown Dallas. This is fenced in but you can shoot through the bars with a short telephoto.

And then, fire. got a call about a burning pipeline west of Dallas. Ran out and got a pretty good series of shots. Only regret, I lost my Maglite in the grass somewhere.

The tools and the trade. I saw this in front or the White Front store in the stockyards in Ft. Worth. Never saw anyone actually working on the shoes but I did buy a new western felt hat from them.

I like the first one too.
Shinemen are some of my favorite folks. Had the same one in Fort Worth for 40 years. Hard to find one now. Have been to White Front store a jillion times. In the 1950s I would put posters in their windows telling who would be wrestling on Monday night at North Side Coliseum next door. Saw Bo Diddley play there in 1960.
My favorite is the pickers hands. Before I came down with MS I did a bit of finger pickin’ (folk style) and keeping my nails in the optimum shape and length was a constant concern. That picker has a lot of miles on his.

Another excellent set, Dean! The first is outstanding. The last is a good still life, but the polish does not match the shoes.
For me first, second , and fourth

Thanks for the download! I still polish my shoes and use all those products. My dad was a shoe repairman and I spent many an hour saving other's shoes. I have my own polish wheels from my dad's equipment when all got sold. I wish I could have gotten the leather sewing treadle machine. Thanks for the picture even if the polish did not match the shoe color.
