I never want to have a house with an electronic lock or a fob to start my car if I can at all help it. I don't like automotive touch screens that control basic funtions that knobs and buttons have done for decades. Call me old fashioned, but I have had too many friends and family members regale me with stories of lost fobs and dead doorlocks.

I have had a pair of nice Serengeti Navigator sunglasses since 1995. I've misplaced them more than one time. Once I left them on the bench in front of my locker at my golf club, went home, and not finding them, went back to the club, amazed to see them still sitting there.

The oddest time, however, was at my car dealership. After waiting for maintenance on my car to be finished I looked around and couldn't fine my sunglasses. I looked everywhere in the dealership that I'd been and couldn't find them. Finally I asked somebody in the lounge if they'd seen them. They told me they were on my head. I NEVER put my glasses or sunglasses up on my head, but that day I had, and forgot that I had. No wonder I couldn't find them. I was thankful to find them but felt like a total ditz.

As bad as I hate to say this, we all have some ditzy days now and then. Don't feel bad! Life might be boring without them. LOL!

I had two simultaneous emotions. Relief at finding my sunglasses and stupidity for where I found them. I still have the sunglasses and they're great. I got over feeling stupid. But, we all had a laugh at the same time.

Your story gave me a great laugh today. I find the older I get the more frequent those sorts of things happen to me.

Key fob always in the right front pocket, knife in left, and cell phone in back left pocket to be removed when I get in the car and placed on the console. When I'm out with my phone the number one rule is "Never set it down, anywhere", no matter how easy it is to do. Put in in your pocket. Uncomfortable, tough but you will never loose it if you stick to that one rule.

I use an Otterbox combo on my iphone (rubber gasket around edge of phone to protect it from drops and an Otterbox belt clip holder on my belt). Have for years. Several years ago, the clip broke well out of warranty. I called Otterbox; they said, although it was out of warranty, they would send me a new one free as they wanted me to have confidence in their product. I generally leave it on my belt to remind me when I tuck my shirt in to be sure I have my phone with me. Keys and camera bags have Apple pods attached. When I step out the back door and don't hear birds, I know I left my hearing aids in the house. :-)

So true. Then it's time to get ready for a repeat. Sort of like lather, rinse, repeat.

" there are three important pieces of personal property a person must constantly be aware of when out and about: Wallet, Cell Phone, and car keys."

I have learned to practice all of those.
My mistake was never leave your phone in your pants pocket.
My love put them in the wash.
Just bought a new phone.
HA HA

Probably a good policy...but, yes, it is uncomfortable.

Never done that, but tossed it in the outside garbage can once. I was glad that my son who lives 8 blocks away has my exterior cameras hooked up with his so he can spy on me to make sure I'm OK. When I couldn't find it, he called and said "You took your garbage out. Did you have it in your hand when you tossed the trash in?"
Yep, sure did!

You can't charge a Cell Phone when it has gone through the washer.

BTW - Our Car does has USB Ports though.
