If you took the last image (Blue Angels) with a single (versus a burst) shot, I’d say you don’t need to practice the panning technique; you need to patent yours! C’mon… which direction were you panning, right or left🤓 Great catch!!!!

Well done Stephen. I take it that this is the air show put on by the WWII Museum held at the Lakefront Airport. I used to go every year when I lived in N.O. It was a wonderful air show. Like your images.

Don

Thank you Don, always good to hear from you. No, this air show was sponsored by and held at Naval Air Station - Joint Reserve Base New Orleans (NAS-JRB-NO)... the base is actually on the West Bank of the Mississippi River, in Belle Chasse, just south of Gretna. It's open to the public but the target audience is military and their families. The Blue Angels are the headliners followed by a handful of "legacy" aircraft- depends on what's in fit-for-flight status. It was a good time... I'm still deaf from the F-35's though...

HA!! I can be quick JR, but not THAT quick! So, 20 fps is the best I can manage- and I need every one of those frames- panning left-to-right at 1/2000 and f/4- auto ISO bounces around 64 to 80. The trouble is the planes are only 150 or so yards away and roaring by at nearly 400 MPH... that's pretty zippy!! Obviously, the secret ingredient is a double shovel of luck... !!
