The entire MSNBC on-air staff objected to the hiring of Rona McDaniel, and it started to bleed over into the NBC on-air staff as well.
They didn't hire her because of trying to have a diverse on-air viewpoint. It was a debacle from the get go.

Congress was about to vote on a bill to correct your perceived problems at the border until trump decided that he and the GOP needed the border problem as a campaign issue to convince their cult members to keep them in office and to try to vote trump back into office.
