"Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story."
In 1440 the ability to mass produce the printed page was developed by book publishers and some became newspapers. Understanding that Fear is the best attention grabber, today’s media uses Fear, hyperbole, and half-truths, to down-right-lies to grab the Fear reaction thus increasing the volume of readership or listeners/watchers. The end-user’s critical ability has become a knee-jerk reaction in even advertising i.e. “Our laundry soap is 50 % better”, better than what, dirt? It does not matter what the producer says because sales increased and end user will keep coming back for more “Truths”.
Was undergoing a test to see if I would qualify for a spinal nerve blocking device, one question was what do you fear? My answer was "trump" which got laughs.
