I turned on a Dell desktop that I haven't used since 2020. I checked for Windows updates. There were sixteen, and it ran overnight to get them all done.
One odd thing. The mouse would do nothing with a double left click. Looking online for a solution, one of the suggestions was to update Windows. After all the updates, the mouse works fine.

Definitely. I tried two different mice before I looked for a solution.

Most of Jerry's conflicts with his computers are
very strange !! If I had as many conflicts as Jerry, I'd have to hire a full time tech support service!
Maybe hire, Jerry!!

I shouldn't say I don't have any problems, because then I would.

You don't want to hire Jerry as you don't want those strange problems. Besides as he would try 2 different mice before looking for solutions so it would cost you a price of a mouse for nothing.

I'm sure he has no less than 20 mice in a box somewhere. None work, but one never knows when a injured mouse will come in handy.

Very astute observation Mark.
One of the first things I learned in troubleshooting was isolating various odd occurrences.
Then try to determine if there was a common denominator !!

From my experience there is usually a simple problem and fix, we just have to find it.
