You can buy the new GoPro 12 Black for $399 on Amazon. I'm glad that I never kept up with their yearly introductions. 12 X $400 = $4,800. In typical upgrade fashion, each new model introduces two or three improvements, saving another two or three for the next model. If I was more involved in active activities, I have more use for an action camera. As it is, I use a GoPro more like a regular camera or for timelapse. I have several GoPros and generics, so I should sell some.
I've got four cameras that are getting nothing but shelf time. B&H says they will pay me enough to make it worth sending them in. That means I can buy something fun.
One huge temptation is a combo package with the DJI Action 4 camera and the DJI wireless mic kit. Wireless audio and rock steady footage are good even if I'm not athletically actionable anymore.

Have you considered a 360 camera?
