The original quote was $322 and the final offer was $294, so I took it. Quote was made 3/10 and I got the final offer yesterday, so pretty good service overall. Not much of a cost recovery, but better than letting them decay and it gives me some money toward the next lens or whatever. Now, for the rest of the unused collection.

On April 1, my human odometer will click to 88... time for me to sell equipment no longer used because of my personal equipment is "excessively mature" to go out shooting like when I was a young guy of 50. So KEH sounds like a possibility. Thanks, Niteman...

I went through the same nonsense this week with KEH. Got a quote of $1496 for a camera and a couple of lenses. so I sent them in. I just heard from them yesterday, 3/26, 16 days later, with a new quote of $1346 which got me so aggrevated that I called them. I told them that their offer of $1496 was fair and the the new $1346 quote was unacceptable because my equipment was pristine. I said If you can't do better, send it back at your expense. The agent said they would give it a second look and get back to me by end of day. The new quote is $1471, so I accepted. The firs go-round was a dance to see how cheap they could get my stuff for. It paid to complain to get them to come around and be fair about the transaction.

I just sold a lot of stuff to Adorama. They sent me a check 2nd day air! They seem to be making a big push in that area, and the people were really nice to work with.

When I sold my very nice Canon 7d2 and 18-135 lens 3 years ago to help justify a R5, I did so through KEH. The response came that they agreed with my assessment of the 7d2 but degraded the lens from excellent to bargain grade. Too much interior dust they said. I don’t recall the numbers but I think below $100, which really pi$$ed me off since I had literally only used the lens once. However, I did buy the kit from a local here, which he bought only a few months before. Cutting to the chase, because I only gave the lens a cursory check before packaging up, I accepted the offer. But… now I go to MPB and if the offer seems reasonable, I don’t bother with KEH.

I once sold a NIKKOR lens to MPB and after looking at it they increased their offer, which, of course, I took.

All equipment evaluations are subjective. At a recent buying event I got a quote about $900 less than I expected. I asked another person at the event to give me an estimate, the revised estimate was close to their online estimate and $850 higher than the first. I suspect the 1st evaluator was having a bad day!?

I sold lenses to KEH and got more than the initial offer. Nikon 200-500 and 70-200 f/4 and a 50mm

In the interest of brevity, I would only say that I had better prices overall from MPB than KEH. In many cases, higher than online quote. Check both for sure.

I sent them a Tamron 150-600mm lens and a Nikon D 5300 10 days ago. The original quote was for $798. I sent them the equipment the next day. I received a quote on Monday for $198 for both Items. The equipment was in excellent shape. I called them on Tuesday and declined their offer and said send back the equipment. I was pissed but controlled my anger. I will never do business with them again.

KEH offered me $140 for a seldom used Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro lens but when they inspected it they said there was fungus in the lens and offered me $15 for it. I told them that I had not seen any fungus in the lens and to please return it to me. They did, I subsequently sent it to MPB for a $100 offer and they ended up evaluating it at $95 so I took it. No mention of fungus. At the same time I sold KEH a D750 and some other lenses for higher prices than MPB offered. I think KEH probably decided they had too many of the Tamron 90’s in stock and low balled the original offer, but to say the reason was fungus was a stretch. I buy and sell much more often with MPB but Robert’s has treated me fairly as well.

One plus for Roberts (Used Photo Pro) is that they send buyers around the country. So if they happen to be at a nearby camera store, you can have the equipment evaluation in person, while you wait. Often, there are additional incentives to spend the money received, in the camera store during the trade-in event. A visit to their Facebook site might give you more info... https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/usedphotopro

Getting close to one of those events would be great... I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the tip! Just bought my Z7ii from them via eBay a couple weeks ago and got a great deal. Highly recommended.
