Nice catch, of the bird.
I loved your take on the birds "call" as a rusty, hinged, gate opening.
Around our place, I can hear a few of the birds, and owls, but am awakened by the "clicking" sounds
of the humming birds as they drink from our Honeysuckle bushes.
(Funny note: the power company has replaced the 75 years old wooden telephone poles on our street, with steel poles.
One of the few (natural wood) poles left on the block is on our property, so the local woodpeckers give us the
greatest pecking sounds, as they drive their beaks in to the 75 year old pine wood. It's like living in the woods when they start pounding out their songs.)

Thanks for looking. I am not expert on bird calls, but that one is distinct.
Funny but I do bird calls, ...here Pigeon, here Robin, here Blue...
I appreciate your thumbs up, Frank.

Thanks, I never saw them until I moved to Utah.

I just learned from one of our local birder's blog that the yellow-headed blackbirds are back at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. The attached set from one of my trips out there last year shows the distinctive colors. This species is larger than the more common red winged blackbird. Their call sounds like a rusty gate opening.
If the weather is good, I am going out next week to see for myself.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
Wow, they are beautiful! Would you send some my way? That sounds like a great trip. Finger's crossed for good weather! Please keep us posted and share!
