I just got a ticket to see Jefferson MacDonald in "Great Balls of Fire" at a local theater. He's been doing this Jerry Lee Lewis tribute show for years, and now he'll be just forty minutes away, for only $39, front row, center.
The show was announced in the newspaper today, and there are only half a dozen seats left - all singles. This is one time when it's good to be a "Single."
I didn't like him then and I don't like him now. But I took a look/listen and confirmed it.
Remember Fireball Roberts, the racecar driver? He got that name because he was a great fastball pitcher.

I like the "Killer" and most of the other Rock-a-Billy performers.
Call it country with a beat for your inner Wild Child.
Wow Big Daddy, thanks for this. How is it that I have never heard him sing “Over the Rainbow”. I saw him in concert many years ago but I don’t remembers him singing that. It is now one of my favorite songs from him. Thanks again for sharing. Phil
In 2005 my wife & I went to Alaska. I made a video of the trip and that was one of the songs I used for background music in part of the video.

I bet that song is more popular now than when it was released.

I never was a big fan of Jerry Lee Lewis until I heard the above two songs. Over the Rainbow was a surprise to me as well, and it's my favorite version as well. Actually Over the Rainbow is not a song I ever particularly liked no matter who did it until I heard this version. Breathless was a strange movie I watched on late night TV years ago. I liked the song and noted it.
I loved that one when I first heard it. Strangely, over the years it grew a bit tiresome to me and I never listen to it anymore. Some songs grow old to me and others seem to never lose there shine.
