Tom I really like the third photo. I like the others too but if I may make a suggestion, rather than photograph all blooms try to concentrate closely on just one, whichever looks best to you and from a bit of the side. See if that doesn't work out for you.

Dennis

Thanks for your input, Dennis. I'm subject to try anything. But that's not really the way I normally would look at a flower. That way would have more merit with me if there was a feature of the flower below the plane of the petals...something of interest that I want to show. And that's my ultimate goal, present the flower with its best foot forward. No doubt I'll run across instances where your suggestion bears fruit.

I assume you're on home grounds now?

Hmmm, that’s odd….😋

Everyone has their own approach. Personally, I think good composition is much more dependent on other factors. I anticipate there will be occasions where 1,2,3 or more blooms prove preferable.

Nice set for a rookie Tom. Really like #3. Did you shoot these recently? I had to chip ice off my windshield to drive this morning. Crocus and daffodil are just getting brave enough to stick their heads out of the ground. And like the groundhog, didn't like what they saw. Like to see more of these.

Hi, Reuss.

I shot these last July when I was on my grounds in Banner Elk, N.C. I have a neighbor up there who is a real wizard with plants. He's kind enough to make sure I'm going to have some some color at my place. We've had some unseasonably cold weather here in Jacksonville. In the last couple of weeks we've had some mornings in the 40's...very unusual.

Yes I am back in Idaho. Fishing has been a bit slow but hopefully will pick up.

Good luck on your photography journey. You are on the right track.

Thank you. It just amazes me that an emerging bud can turn into something so beautiful,
