Pat's images from the old time candy store reminded of one we have nearby; Mr. Ed's Elephant Museum and Candy Emporium, situated on route 30 between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA. If you are ever in the area, you simply must stop in. Besides "sweet," the word eclectic is very appropriate. Oh, and these images capture less than a tenth of what is available.
Tim

SO great to see yu, Tim! What an array of delights... And what a weird combo - elephants and candy. Of course, if one eats too much candy I suppose they could become as big as an elephant.

Well, did you?? I love to watch the faces kiddos make with their first experience with the soda bubbles.

Well, it's been a delicious challenge so far. We are having a March snow storm dumping 6-10" of snow which will later be encrusted by sleet and freezing rain. Power outs are anticipated so if I don't get back on later (I'm doing all my "electric" chores first, just in case), I'll catch up with you some time.

Some seasonal sweets. I'm packing up everything to do egg dying and taking it to our sons group home tomorrow. He loves dyeing eggs and maybe some of the other guys will join in or at least watch. I've made up goodie bags for all of them and am about to decorate a cake like the one in the last pict. Hoping it will be a fun time. Maybe we'll even do an egg hunt.

In past years, he frosted and decorated cupcakes.

There is an old "penny Candy" store I pass a few times a week. My memory may mot remember correctly but I think it was called "Way Way" because at one time it was way, way out of the town of Saco (5-6 miles maybe?) It was one of those old gas stations with comcrete, rock and an unusal block design of the maine building. For years it was a tradition for many families in the area to take their kids, get some candy and ice cream and chat. Two women ran it and when they retired well into their 80s/90s a group took it over. It's a fun place to visit. Notice the candy is no longer a penny and this was several years ago.

Extremely heartwarming shots
I'd ask you to be my honorary "grandpaw," but I'm probably older than YOU

Used to have one by my aunt's home in Chicago where I could go with a nickel and spend hours just deciding what to buy

Penny candy Just today at the 7-11 gas station, I see a regular sized-Snickers bar for $2.79 🤮🤮🤮
When are people going to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Second time I looked, I finally saw the "kid-friendly" prices - and I think they are phenomenal 🥇🥇🥇

I sure love that Pez display - and wish I had a handful of the dispensers that I owned as a kid
