You are likely confusing it with the original 47th Street Photo which in its day was a very good store.

Why are you intested in that shop instead of the known trustworthy shops ? Are you just looking for trouble ?

Hmmmmm, 42 Street Photo is located on 32nd Street. I’d avoid a store that is that deceptive.

Yes, I remember the old store and have dealt with both. There is a heaven & hell difference between that earlier store and the present one.

Have a look at Abe's of Maine if you really want low prices.

Many years ago 47th Street photo (not 42nd St) was a reputable dealer. That was a long, long time ago and they are NOT related.

I bought a number of items from 47th Street Photo when I worked in mid-town Manhattan in the early 70s. My experience was good, but you had to know what you wanted when you went in. They weren't going to take the time to educate you.

Why do people keep asking about these places when we have Adorama and B&H, which are legitimate and fair?

Yes, It was the 47th St Photography not the 42nd St Photography, I bought some gears in the 80's and had no problems with the 47th St Photography. Thank you for reminding.

My 3 are Pictureline, B&H and Adorama. All three are knowledgeable and honest in every purchase made over several years.

B& H and Adorama are certainly large, well known, and have good reputations, but there are other stores that are also good. Some large, and some not so large. There are a number of reputable camera stores in the Philadelphia area.

Stores come and go. Nothing wrong about trying to check out a lesser known name.
