I saw her in the Mid 1970s with Fleetwood Mac on the *Rumours* tour. GOOD concert.

Then future wife and I saw her live in 1983. She was stoned out of her gourd on stage.

I don't begrudge anyone their recreational drug use, but when it affects performance on the job, that's a problem.
Are you sure it wan't her real personality? I get the impression she is kinda goofy.

But I totally agree about it being a problem if she was stoned. People paid money to see her and she didn't deliver. She not only let down her customers, but also the promoters, her agent and herself. And like any other job when customers pay money and and don't receive their money's worth, then they should get a refund. In this case you voted with your $ by not seeing her again. If everyone did that then she would get the message quickly.

The 1983 concert was sold out. The first half was okay. The acoustics in the old Charlotte coliseum are awful, so it was a bit boomy. She took a break about half way through. In the back part of her set was a white, semi-opaque tent. During the latter part of intermission, two shadowy figures appeared in that tent, and there was a strange, intermittent flame-like glow between them. The glow went out, she and her guitarist came out of the tent, and joined the rest of her band. That's when we knew something was "off." She was flat, strained, and forgot some lines.

From the days of the Fleetwood Mac album, Rumours, on into the mid 1980s, Nicks was a cocaine addict. She struggled with addiction to prescription meds after kicking coke at Betty Ford's clinic. She suffered from heavy anxiety and near-debilitating stage fright.

I have always thought her best work was on the Buckingham-Nicks album from 1973. I still have that album. The 1975 Fleetwood Mac album was a good showcase for her, too. It took Fleetwood Mac in a completely different direction from their roots as a British blues band. Those of us who liked Fleetwood Mac before, were a little taken aback at the shift to pop-rock, but we got used to it.

One of the reasons I've taken such a liking to The Warning is that they are seemingly unafraid as performers. They freaking OWN a stage when they walk out onto it. It's complete crowd control from the first note to the last. They're such pro performers they intimidated most of the bands they opened for on their 2022-23 tours, just with sheer musical professionalism.

BTW, they released two new singles yesterday, 3/8/2024, Hell You Call A Dream, and Que Mas Quieres (in Spanish). Music videos are on The Warning YouTube channel. HYCAD has the dirtiest, nastiest, loudest, heaviest bass lines of any song I have ever heard from anyone! Sweet little Ale is a monster on that bass. Dany hits some impossibly high vocal notes in that song, too. New album, Keep Me Fed, out June 28. The cover photo is on their Instagram page and it is amazing. It reminds me of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper in spirit.

Yeah, that’s a good one!

Ale’s live bass work on Hell You Call a Dream is the dirtiest, nastiest, loudest, hit you in the gut bass line I’ve ever heard.

I haven't been to a concert in many years either, but I spent a paycheck on the Billy Joel/Sting concert coming up at Busch Stadium in Sept. I know at Cardinals games, the lens can't be any longer than the camera - I managed to get one of my zoom lenses in once....barely. Not sure about the concert, though. Last concert I went to was TSO, probably 20 yrs ago and all they said (I think) was no video. When I went to the Moulin Rouge in 2022 they said no pictures or video whatsoever (guess they didn't want half-naked ladies on You-Tube...besides, I think it was a copywrite issue.

I showed all the “crappy” photo taken with my cell phone. No matter, I had a great time at a concert and got great merch as a nice souvenir of a wonderful evening with my wife and a favorite band.

I just got tickets to a Stevie Nicks concert. In Hershey PA. Haven't gone to concert for many years. I know that in the past you could not take any photos period. But with everyone having a Smart phone, and you can now take pictures with them. Dose anyone know if you can use a Real Professional camera at a concert. Have looked for info on ticket site's and the venue site. All it says is no flash photography during the show. Dose anyone have any experience or advice on this subject. I appreciate any Help thanks.

Take in two Real Professional cameras (or more). Security will think you belong there.

You could make a large plastic placard and hang it around your neck. Add a passport sized photo to make it look realistic. Walk around like you belong there. Security won’t pay you any mind. Personally, I prefer to enjoy the concert!

Do you really think security people can't recognize their venue's or artist's photo passes?

You are probably correct and I don’t try to fool anyone. I like to enjoy the concerts and I really have a great time.

Gooid question. Some "professional photographers" have been using smart phones.

I am a professional still ‘tog.
When I am shooting a move music performance, I am accredited, with full access.
So, of course, getting my “pro” kit in, is never an issue.
Regarding, using the phone,
although my Z9 is considered one of the best video cameras extant, I find it much easier to just pull out the
Apple iPhone 14pro.
When I want to capture a little bit of video for nonprofessional usage, to document a setting, or lighting conditions, or even capture a live music performance, I will always default to the phone’s camera.
FTR:
Many of those nonprofessional videos have been posted, online, to good reviews
The bonus, to me, is that I don’t have to change any settings on the Z, I am able to continue to shoot my stills, and the quality of the video produced by the phone is actually remarkable!!

I believe in using whichever tools/devices/technologies, that will best get the results I am looking for.

And, yes…
When I am shooting with the large Z9, and a big piece of glass, and then I pull out the iPhone, of course I get some curious comments from the people around me, but I take it all in good fun.
Ymmv, imho.
