Peteso, their offering the upgrade currently at
$55, might pull the trigger, maybe wait.
Hmmm 🤔- haven’t heard of Pete’s before. What is it?
Thank you - seems like a good review. This program has been feeling good to me since I've seen it. "ve used Affinity & Paint Shop some but something hasn't felt quite right for me.
I didn't see it in the review, but do you know if will work on a jpeg file? I have some older jpeg photos I would like to improve and save.

yes though of course a jpeg isn’t as processable as a RAW image.
For some it would be worth trying
Just got another sale email- think I’ll try it
Thank you
I have used ON1 for several years. ON1 2023 and 2024 will not work with AMD Radeon drivers newer than 23.8. When they switched to ON1RAW 2023, there were issues with NVidia video cards, but that is now ironed out. Hopefully they will address the AMD issues soon.
It is a very capable editor and has especially useful and intuitive luminosity masking. Their panorama feature sucks, but luckily there is Affinity for that!
I subscribed to ON1 last year and thought I was mostly happy with it. I’m using ON1 Photo Raw Max 2024 via subscription. While on a cruise this year without internet connection, to my disappointment I discovered that ON1 subscriptions can’t be used without an internet connection. Maybe I’m naïve, but I think any software installed on a laptop should be able to be used while offline. I asked ON1 support about it because I thought I just didn’t know what I was doing. They told me that their subscriptions don’t work offline and that only their outright licensed software will work offline. I asked them why they thought that was reasonable, asking if they didn’t think subscribers would ever have a reason to use their software when there is no internet service, or even when having internet service, did they think that service would never be interrupted for any reason. They ignored my question and would not explain why they thought it was reasonable. I asked if they would ever support their subscribers with offline use and they said they don’t have any plans to. I questioned why they aren’t upfront about this in their marketing information, and they basically told me that I’m the one to blame because I wasn’t astute enough to read their System Requirements well enough to decipher that I would not be able to use my subscription when offline. I find ON1 marketing confusing, but if you think you might ever need to process photos offline, you might consider an outright license rather than a subscription.
Thank you for your thoughts. Historically, I just don’t like subscriptions, even “on a good day.” And while I wasn’t aware of an issue like yours, it does give me another reason to avoid them. I’m surprised and yet not surprised by their response to your inquiry. Hope their tech support responses are better.
Again, thank you for sharing.
