What Infocus said. Turn on your camera and press "Info" repeatably and it will cycle thru the screens.

To view the camera settings on the back temporarily press the Q button if you want to leave the display on press the info button till it cycles through to showing the camera settings (keeping this display on uses up more battery power than leaving it off though) to to get the sensor cleaning back when you start your camera go into menu, then on the 8th tab from the right 4th from the left there is a setting for sensor cleaning, enable auto cleaning.I'd also like to recommend reading Canon EOS 60D From Snapshots to Great Shots and David Busch's Canon EOS 60D Guide to Digital SLR Photography for more information on the Canon 60D I found both these books more useful then the owners manual at setting up my camera and what the different settings actually do.

You can cycle through the "Info" button and get different displays.
Try pushing the button and you get the level, and then push again you get a different screen.
One such selection is no display, saves power.

If you press the info button, the LCD will display the camera settings. If you switch the camera off in this condition, the screen will display the same info when you switch the camera on again. Once you press the info button again, the screen will go blank. There is a custom setting for "Info button display options" (wrench...) that allows you to choose what the info button does. The choices are 1) Displays Camera Settings, 2)Displays electronic level and 3) Displays Shooting Functions. You can tick all or none of these.

clicking the info button does work but that's not my issue. Just trying to get the setting to display once I turn on the camera like it used to. Camera works it just that I'm used to having the setting displayed automatically. Was thinking I changed a setting that i didn't want set.
Thanks

My information is the same as that of Ziggykor. If you click on the info. button, you can bring up the information you're looking for on the LCD, and from then on that information will appear every time you turn on the camera. Either that or you can turn it off and click on MENU or Q, whichever you want, the next time you turn on the camera.

I have a Canon 60D. It's one and half yrs old. When I turn it on the information does not show on the LCD screen. It always used to. It does however work when I push the Quick Control button. I never had to push that button before to get information. I took the battery out and put it back in. I reset all my settings to default. I'm at a loss as to what I need to do to get it back to showing up when I turn on the camera.
Any suggestions other than sending it to canon. I do have it insured, but I have appointments right now and need the camera.
Thanks!

Press the info button. It toggles the screen info on and off.

I have a 7D, but mine has never done that. It would be annoying if it did.
Turn on your camera then check the settings or menu if you want, but otherwise start shooting pics.

Here is the link for your manual. Look at pages 43-47 for starters and see if any info in these pages helps you.

thanks! I went to that site. There's no troubleshooting that I could find though. My screen works, it's just that the informations doesn't show up until I press the Quick Control button. I guess what I'm looking for is troubleshooting issues. I thought it would be easier asking someone who has experienced the same issue. Usually someone from this site responds quickly...LOL! I appreciate all your help though!

Try pressing the button called "info"

I have experienced this with my 60D. Press the info button several times and cycle through the screens until the correct one appears.

ok I think I'm going to just deal with it working the way it does. Everything comes up when i press the Quick Control button or the info button. All that works. The only thing I wanted to work like it did before is that when i turn the camera on, it's already on the LCD screen. I don't have to push anything. SO now all I have is a black screen until I press something. I just wanted it to come up automatically like before.
I've tried all the suggestions and appreciate everyones help, but I think I have a dead subject...LOL!!
Thansk everyone and Happy New Year!!
