There is NO WAY ON EARTH that the SC states that any President is above the law! That would mean we are in fact not a Democratic Republic nor a democracy!

It is not in the Constitution that a President is immune from prosecution for criminal actions, so why would he be immune from being tried?

I'm not disputing immunity while in office (and I recognize that a DOJ memo says DOJ should not prosecute a President while in office). Trump's argument is far more drastic than that: he is arguing that a President has immunity from prosecution for any acts he did while President for the rest of his life, not just while he is in office. Under his argument, President Biden could shoot Trump at a debate and could never be prosecuted.

It just cannot be that a President can send in Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival and there is no recourse. Crimes are crimes, no matter who the person is, if the justice system is all for one and one for all.

Even as evidenced by SCOTUS ruling agains Nixon in tapes case . Presidents are not immune from illegal
