I've always been an animal lover, much to my Dad's regret. Animals always seemed to find me, including the neighbor's ducks, who preferred our home. I grew up with a dog, but as a single woman, cats were a better option. There was no need to walk them late at night! I am now the proud mama of two rescue kitties.
Consequently, as a photographer, I had a passion for capturing their unique personalities. This is the Professor. These are from 2009, taken with my first digital camera, a Canon Rebel XTi, using a 75-300 mm kit lens. During this time, sadly, we had a huge feral population. The Professor, however, had a home, but his family allowed him to roam freely. The Professor was wonderful to work with, full of personality and, at times, a real character!
These were run through Topaz to see if they could be sharpened.
Hope you enjoy!

Nice photos of that very beautiful kitty!!!

The Professor is definitely a natural model. Could be he knows how handsome he is. You obviously have a good rapport going; he looks calm, trusting, and relaxed.
Thanks! Yeah, he was always very relaxed!

Yeah, he was a great model and knew how to work the camera. Only problem often was that he wanted to more curl up in my lap
Cats are great company. Very good images.

In the big scheme of things, that's not much of a problem.

True, it was sort of a perk.

Thanks for the feedback. Personalities is a perfect way to describe them. I now have two again: Bumper, a senior well-behaved formal feral cat, and my rescued kitty Bear, as described on the HOG here. He's the total opposite. About two years old, full of himself and into everything, including happily my lap!
