Amen. brother!! I'm 78 and have a Samoyed lying right beside me. My sister was here two weeks ago and said I should get rid on the dog. "You can't take care of him and you should get rid of him. I feed him on time, he gets out to do his business and I throw toys for him to attack and kill that little squeaker. He sleeps beside my bed on the ceramic tile to stay cool and he loves it. I have very bad legs and can't take him for walks but my neighbor helps there. I have three great neighbors. My sister and my niece only seem to worry about how much I have and how much there will be left for them and my great nieces and great nephew. Enuf said.

Great photo of a beautiful dog and your lovely wife. Dogs steal your heart then break it when they cross "the rainbow bridge" but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am not sure who said it but " a house is not a home without a dog".

Beautiful dog. Enjoy having him lead your daily walk. (your family wanted you to have some daily cardio, no better way than walking the dog twice a day)

On Sunday, 1 October, 2023, I retired. My oldest daughter and my wife conspired to get me a dog. I really didn't want one. I wanted to see what it was like to be able to sleep in on a weekday. They both knew that I liked German Shepherds. They just happened to find a purebred at a local rescue shelter. He was going on 4 months of age. They showed me a picture. Damn it! we now have a German Shepherd puppy who just turned 9 months old and is now 75 lbs (1000 kilograms).

Just this Friday, he graduated doggie boot camp. His name is Lionel and he is something else. All in a good way. He loves us to death. How anyone could ever hurt an animal is beyond me. All they want is a little love and they will give that love back a thousand fold.

Nice image and great looking dog. I have a few of them myself I just got finished sharing my dinner with the crew. The newest one not even 5 months wants everything he is going to be some terror.

We enjoy both cats and dogs as companions here.
I don't like cats but we have had one for several years and it has always liked me. So, when we got Lionel, he thought the cat was another stuffed animal. He seemed to have gotten away from that and now they eat out of the same bowl at the same time (His food, not hers).

A German shepherd with squeak toys? How embarrassing! But he has them and he likes them.

Yeah, there you go with that "rainbow bridge" our neighbors across the street had a Corgi and it crossed that bridge just last week. Sad indeed.

Thank you! And I know all about the cardio thing. Got a lot of it with my work. You are right about that. I make sure to take him for a good, long walk twice a day.
